Meet Liz
As a kid, Liz Marion had two very different career dreams: veterinarian or talk show host. While she didn’t end up in either field, the latter says a lot about who she is today. Liz grew up acting and performing, drawn to storytelling, presence, and connecting with an audience — and those instincts are very much alive in her work as the founder and owner of Liby Works LLC.
Liby Works is a communications coaching and consulting practice that helps leaders and teams communicate with more clarity and confidence. Liz works with executives, founders, and growing organizations who are doing big things but whose communication systems haven’t quite caught up to their ambition. Through 1:1 coaching, workshops, and practical tools, she helps people lead better meetings, navigate high-stakes conversations, and show up with more executive presence.
What she loves most? The moment something clicks. “So many high-performers already have the talent, drive, and expertise — they just haven’t been given the tools to fully own their voice,” she says. Watching a leader realize they can communicate with clarity and authority, without shrinking or over-explaining, is what keeps her energized.
Liz joined SHIFT when her family relocated to Frederick from the West Coast. As a business owner and mom to a young son, she was looking for more than just a desk. She wanted community, connection, and a focused work rhythm. The onsite babysitting options were a major draw, giving her the freedom to be fully present in her work while her son is in good hands.
This year, Liz is focused on depth over breadth, leaning into the most rewarding parts of her practice and helping both individual leaders and teams build the communication habits that create real alignment.
When she’s not coaching, you can find Liz walking downtown Frederick, exploring local parks and trails, cheering on her son at Kicks Karate, and checking out the city’s many great foodie spots.
